Encyclopedia

Here you will soon find choice entries from the Encyclopedia Ashelonica.  The book that will give you wondrous insights into the steampunk-inspired world of Ashelon. To tide you over until we can get the typing fairies to come back (they went on strike when we ran out of tipsy-trickulum tea), here are a few we managed to enter ourselves.

Agar Roch

Agar Roch translates roughly as Blood Unicorn.  It is the most fearsome of creatures. Even trolls dare not cross its path.  It is blood red in color, bigger than a factory work horse, with two razor sharp curved horns on its brow and fearsome fangs.  It magnifies your worst fears, and when you die from fright, it tears open your throat and drinks your blood.  Or, at least, that’s what’s told in tales.  No one in an elf age has seen one. And lived to tell about it.

Fizzing Blue Tongue is a perennial native to the Floating Island region of the Hidden Lands. It flowers every Blue Moon, producing light to dark blue, tongue-like flowers. The flowers last for 7-10 days, depending on the weather, and produce an effervescence that is prized by the local tribe of fairies who consume them.

It’s said the bubbles have quite the intoxicating effect. Side-effects for humans is unknown, but unconsciousness after consuming the effervescence has been reported.

The Great Unveiling

October 19, 1800 – Asher, god of Chaos and Strife, decided to shake things up a bit by sending a comet down upon the earth.  This comet was not only destructive; it also served to break the glamour that supernatural creatures used to hide from mortals.  No one knows exactly how that is, but pieces of the comet, recovered near the impact site, have been found to nullify the abilities of supernatural creatures when held against their bodies.

Luck Dragon

This diminutive creature is very rare in Ashelon. Not much is known about it, and if you’re able to capture one, you’re very lucky indeed. The few that have been caught have been found in mossy areas with a hearty supply of insects and edible flowers.

Those who have captured a luck dragon have reported a noticeable increase in their fortunes and luck. One caution, however. Luck dragons can be ferocious when contained for too long, and it is advised that you let them out of their cages periodically. Keeping a good supply of crickets and/or daisies nearby will prevent your dragon from straying too far.

Ravela

A Humanoid bird race. Can often be found flying in front of Fae captained airships.

… and for the last time Lady Swoosh-Bottom, we shall not be including an entry describing the details of the Pootberry Crumble incident.  No one wants to relive the horror or remember the smell so please stop asking us.
